Adjunct Associate Professor Kelvin Teo is a senior consultant ophthalmologist at Advanced Eye Clinic and Surgery, with a special focus on complex retinal diseases. He is a highly experienced cataract surgeon and retinal specialist with clinical expertise in age-related macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, and retinal vascular disorders.
Dr Teo graduated from Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, and went on to earn a PhD in Medical Research from the University of Sydney. He completed his ophthalmology specialist training at the Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC), where he practised for over a decade. His dual fellowships in Medical Retina—one from SNEC and the other from the Sydney Eye Hospital—further deepened his subspecialty expertise.
As an adjunct Associate Professor at the Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences Academic Clinical Programme (EYE ACP), Duke-NUS Medical School, and a lead researcher at the Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI), A/Prof Teo actively contributes to research on the aging eye, macular degeneration, and innovations in retinal imaging and treatment. He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications and secured major national research funding, including the prestigious NMRC Transition Award.
